Our Nurses

Lynn G. Razzano, RN, MSN, ONC, CMSRN

A recognized health and patient safety expert and professional nurse for more than 44 years, Lynn Razzano has developed high level protocols for academic medical centers, hospitals, rehabilitation facilities, and ambulatory surgery centers. A professional RN for 44 years, Ms. Razzano is well known for advice on performance improvement in health care, quality initiatives, regulatory compliance and patient safety endeavors. Ms. Razzano is an author, writer and conference presenter on topics such as The Affordable Care Act, VTE prevention protocols, opioid safety, prevention of VTE in the OB patient population, and litigation cases for the DaVinci Robot and the Spinal Fusion/Harrington. Ms. Razzano is a patient and health care advocate for continuous monitoring with opioid use and alarm management. Additionally, Ms. Razzano is known for advocating, demonstrating best practice standards of patient education and the importance of adherence to prescribed therapeutic regime. She was a former Director of Quality and Corporate Compliance for four sub-acute long term care facilities and instrumental in being a lead Joint Commission facilitator with highly successful outcomes throughout her career. Over the past 8 years, Ms. Razzano has been a high volume and quality producer of clinically reviewing post marketing surveillance complaints for several medical device companies. Ms. Razzano is known to be a strong patient advocate, fluent in harm reduction and prevention strategies, using the AHRQ PMET (Patient Education Materials Assessment) model for patient education.

Thereza Ayad, RN, MSN, DNP, CNOR

Thereza has been a Registered Nurse since 2000. An expert in the perioperative setting experienced in various roles: staff, charge, manager and currently employed as a clinical nurse educator and assistant professor specializing in perioperative nursing. Thereza has a Bachelor of Arts Anthropology, Bachelor of Science Nursing, Master of Science Healthcare/Nursing Education, and Doctorate Nursing Practice. The focus of Thereza’s scholarly work is safety culture in the operating room as it relates to the prevention of wrong site surgery. Thereza has presented continuing education (CE) programs related to wrong site surgery at chapter meetings for the Association of Perioperative Registered Nurses (AORN) and poster presentations at Regis University and the AORN Global Surgical Conference. Thereza has been a peer reviewer for the AORN Journal. Thereza has contributed publications to the Joint Commission Resources on various clinical topics related to the perioperative patient. Thereza has also published topics around surgical safety in OR Magazine. Additionally, Thereza teaches an introductory course Periop 101 to Registered Nurses new to the specialty of perioperative nursing basing the curriculum on AORN standards of practice. Thereza also teaches the perioperative curriculum for a Registered Nurse First Assist program. Thereza has provided expert consultation around perioperative and healthcare accrediting and regulatory standards also providing legal review around nursing standards of practice.
